Founded in 1991, the mission of the Hope Line is accomplished by employing state of the art technology and a team of trained volunteers. These core elements are complimented by a cadre of like-minded partners who share a burden for this generation and have unique abilities to meet specific needs facing this generation. The Hope Line may be thought of as a “coaching center” for teenagers and young adults utilizing telephone, one-on-one chat, and text messaging.
Trained volunteers called Hope Coaches staff the Hope Line from national call centers located in Sioux Falls, SD; Harrisburg, PA; Minneapolis, MN; Chattanooga, TN; and Spring Hill, TN.
Our goal is not to replace the advice and support of parents, pastors, and local counselors. Jeffrey always encourages teens to first approach those whom the teen personally knows when needing help. Our goal is to provide teens, who chose not to speak with someone they know personally, the opportunity to speak with a trained counselor and receive help in handling their struggles without turning to societal pressures, such as alcohol, drugs, eating disorders, cutting, and even suicide. The Hope Line seeks to offer relevant advice by sharing the healing truth of God’s Word and the life-changing truth of the Gospel of Christ. By reaching them where they are, rescue attempts are made in an effort to restore the seeker to a positive approach to life. As a bridge of trust is established seekers are often introduced to a network of Christian care.
